So just thought I'd let you know the speech went really well. Like really, really well! I was put under a lot of pressure on the morning of the wedding by the parents of the groom going out of their way to tell me that “I had better do a good job” and that it “needs to be funny to make people laugh”.

I was so annoyed that they actually did that, I felt sick after they said it. So naturally that made me even more nervous and I actually thought about running away lol. The whole day I was running it thru my head thinking, ohhh maybe I need to change it and put some funny stuff in there to “make people laugh” like I was told to.

But as the day went on I thought “stuff the parents I’m gonna stick to what we’ve already written because I wanted to be sincere and not get up there and turn it into a 21st speech and take away from his special day!

So I pretended that the grooms parents weren’t even there and when it was my turn to get up and talk I just went for it. I was worried I wouldn’t get any laughs at all but I did. I think because I’d read it over and over so many times I’d forgotten how funny it was.

And the sincere bits were so good! After the speeches were done I had people coming up to me all night saying it was “one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard” and things like “super speech”.

And blow me down even the parents of the groom were impressed, they said I absolutely nailed it and asked if they could have a copy of the speech!!! So I just really want to say a MASSIVE thankyou for putting the speech together.
You have an amazing ability and you’re the reason it was so successful! Next time I have to make a speech I’ll be asking for your help again.​
