Q. Why hire a wedding speechwriter?
A. I'll give you five good reasons:

You'll enjoy the day more
Knowing you have a great speech in your hand will boost your confidence significantly,      which means less time on the day worrying and more time enjoying the festivities. 

You won't embarrass yourself
 You won’t be the guy who delivers one of those speeches - painfully long or so      inappropriately awful that everyone in the room is extremely uncomfortable and talks about you all the way home (and for years to come) for all the wrong reasons. 

You won't sound like a broken record
You won’t repeat tired phrases, corny clichés and bad internet gags that people hear over and over again. I use your personal stories and words to help you tell your unique story.

You'll still sound like you - just better!
Don't worry, you won't lose any of the sentiment or sound like somebody else.  This is a collaborative process. I simply take your words, thoughts and ideas and tie them all together to create a succinct, heartfelt and well-structured speech. 

You'll avoid an expensive mistake
It’s not uncommon for couples these days to spend tens of thousands of dollars to create the perfect wedding. Great care is taken with every detail. Why risk spoiling such a special - and expensive - day with a half-baked or rushed speech where the results could be horrendous?

Q. Isn’t hiring a speechwriter a bit like cheating? 
A. 100% no! For two reasons:
  1. As above. The stories and sentiment are yours, so it’s still you, just a more articulate and confident you.
  2. Hiring a professional should never be considered cheating. At weddings it’s common to hire a florist, a cake maker, a dress maker and even an event planner, so why not for the thing that's stressing you out and keeping you awake at night? The fact is, not everyone is a great writer for the same reason not everyone is a handyman or a good cook and there's no shame in getting help to do the best possible job.
  3. A wedding speech is arguably one of the more memorable aspects of a wedding. Be remembered for the right reasons. 

Q. What sort of people hire you?
A. I’ve worked with all kinds of people, including CEOs, lawyers and professional athletes, but mostly my clients are everyday people who want to give a great speech and don't feel they can write it themselves. Everyone needs help finding the right words sometimes, and that’s where I come in.

Q. I don't live in Melbourne, does that matter? 
A. No, my service is Australia-wide so I can help you wherever you are. 

Q. What kinds of events do you write for?
A. I’ve written speeches for a variety of occasions, from the more standard events such as weddings, engagements and funerals, to vows and love letters. 

Q. How much notice do you need to get cracking?
A. Ideally I need at least two weeks notice to turn your speech and vows around (and give you enough time to rehearse it). I do my best to accommodate last minute requests but it's not always possible. These may also incur a 25% surcharge.

 A. I’ll send you an invoice with a fixed price quote and require full payment upfront, via bank transfer.

Q. How many free revisions are included in the price?
A. 1 - 2. It depends on your package.

Q. How long does your speechwriting process take? 
A. To edit a speech you have written allow 2-3 business days. To write one from scratch , allow five business days for me to turnaround a first draft. Sometimes in peak periods this may take a bit longer but I will let you know upfront if that's the case.
